ESPO warmly congratulates the port of Peterhead (UK) for its recent re-certification under the Port Environmental Review System (PERS). PERS is the only port sector specific environmental management standard. It is the flagship product of the EcoPorts network and is offered as part of the ESPO services to its members through the EcoPorts website at www.ecoports.com.

The port of Peterhead achieved re-certification after the positive evaluation of its application by Lloyd’s Register. The port was first certified by PERS in 2008, then in 2011 and successfully provided evidence of improved environmental performance in the course of the last 2 years in line with the PERS re-certification requirements. Peterhead is the only PERS certified port in Scotland and part of the 3 UK ports that hold a valid certificate together with Milford Haven and Shoreham.
